All these practices direct the author’s thought and body to clarify spatial relations.“I often work with space, create works that interact directly with it. ”Anna entered the shortlist of nominees for the M17 Sculpture Prize with the Herbarium project. “The installation was created while working with the Kharkiv National University Botanic Garden collection. It is an alternative to a herbarium that scientists gather to study plants. The ‘Herbarium’ is another method for examining the flora, learning it through form and tactility.

With the beginning of the full-scale war, various defense structures very
quickly filled the streets of Ukrainian cities. All of these structures have a
very specific purpose, but the diversity of their manifestation is boundless.
For example, barriers such as anti-tank “hedgehogs” (Czech hedgehog) have
a very clear function and design, but they differ one from another as if they
were sculpted by different masters.
The most important design feature of the “hedgehog” is that, geometrically,
it has the shape of a regular octahedron. Thus, however you put it down,
there are always three points on which it stands, and the other three points
create danger. A similar principle is behind the “crow’s foot” (caltrop), an area denial weapon
that was used as early as in the days of the Roman Empire, and is still used
as an anti-vehicle barrier. If the “crow’s foot” is thrown to the ground, one
thorn will point up, and the other three will provide support.
As long as they maintain the basic functional principle of form, these
designs can be completely abstract in their manifestation. So I looked at
military barriers as a separate sculptural form. Presented objects can be
of different sizes and made of different materials to stand on your desk,
defend the city, or become a memorial or tombstone of a soldier...
