Petro Gronsky

Petro Gronskyi's creative pursuits are markedly influenced by Oleksandr Arkhypenko, whose monument project is in the artist's portfolio. Through the transformation of the classical form, the sculptor often turns to metaphysical reflections, highlighting the authenticity rather than the idealisation of the depicted, Gronsky's works make a deep impression due to the combination of realism and expressiveness.
He is a member of the Youth Association of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine.

The sculpture embodies the imaginary "taste enhancer" invented by the artist - E019. This is an allusion to the digital designation of "substitutes", "dyes", "amplifiers" and the like. What tools of expression should a modern sculpture use to establish itself in the already existing, complex environment of a dynamic city in order to compete with its surroundings, capture space, attract attention, ask questions of the viewer? Should it focus more on her own personality rather than trying to serve specific requests or match the context of the place where it is placed? These questions are raised by the artist while working on the object.
Sculpture, using classical materials - stone, bronze, wood – lost in the "competition in expressiveness", looks more like a decoration, it is increasingly difficult to be noticed, to focus on itself. Attention is becoming more and more valuable in terms of value and currency, not only in the virtual world but also in public space. In the context of a Ukrainian city that is critically overflowing with aggressive visual information, it is difficult for a sculpture to hold the viewer's attention, competing with 30-meter advertising boards, small architectural forms and other objects of various shapes, colors and sizes that are aggressive and are out of control.
