Concept

The "Reforming the Space: New Monuments" project focused on the transformation of public spaces in the post-Soviet paradigm in Ukraine. It explored the intersection of art and virtual reality in different cities across the country. The project aimed to address important topics relevant to Ukrainian society. Spanning various sectors of art and culture, the project sought to utilize new technologies and artistic expressions to interact with public spaces. By integrating art and virtual reality, the project aimed to enhance the fabric of the city and provide a shared experience for citizens.

The theme of the project, "Reforming the Space: New Monuments," aimed to reimagine the concept of monuments in the context of contemporary society. Through the use of art and VR technologies, the project offered experimental solutions for Ukrainian cities in the field of public art. Ten artists from different regions of Ukraine collaborated to create objects for public spaces in Kyiv and Kharkiv. Working alongside urbanists, architects, communities, and developers, they sought innovative solutions to transform the environment and bring about positive change. The project aimed to inspire new perspectives on public spaces and encourage dialogue and engagement among citizens.
